Teneriffa hat viel mehr zu bieten als den Worldcup Spot Cabezo und die Bucht von El Medano. Vor allem im Winter gibts teilweise atemberaubende Wellen – man muss nur wissen wo und wann. Alex Mussolini wohnt in El Medano – und hat immer ein Auge auf die Vorhersage um keinen “Magic Moment” zu verpassen, denn er weiß welcher Spot bei welcher Vorhersage funktioniert.

Last years PWA Wave World Ranking number 3 Alex Mussolini, El Medano resident, is one of the local Tenerife Windsurfers that know about the variety of spots on the island and has always an eye at the forecasts to not miss one of those magic moments everyone loves our sport so much for.

“Writing and The Sea” nennt sich der neue Clip von Graham Ezzy, der von Kevin Pritchard produziert wurde. Vom Ho’okipa Beach Park gibt es jedes Jahr wahrscheinlich 100 Videos, die alle mehr oder weniger das Gleiche bieten. In “Writing and The Sea” ist dass anders, denn Graham transportiert nicht nur gnadenlos gute Windsurf Action, sondern auch eine Message.

There are some hundred clips from Ho’okipa which show pretty much the same but this one really stands out because there’s also a messaage of Graham in it.

Kleiner Clip von Ben Severne & Matt Holder. “Nichts besonderes” werdet ihr euch beim Anschauen denken – doch mit dem Hintergrund dass das Teil in nur 20 Minuten Filmen vor Gnaraloo entstanden ist, sieht die Sache schon anders aus.

“Western Australia” ist wahrscheinlich einer der Traumspots für jeden Waver – “OZ” sein Zuhause nennen zu können ist noch besser. Ben Severne hat es geschafft.

Gaastra “come together” in Kapstadt. Jamie Hancock, Ross Williams, Phil Horrocks und Alex Mussolini waren zum Jahreswechsel alle in Kapstadt anzutreffen. Grund war nicht nur für die neue Saison fit zu werden, sondern bei der Gelegenheit auch gleich die 2014er Gaastra Wavesegel zu “shooten”

Mega Teil, soviel sei schonmal verraten. “Al” surft in Victoria – im Südwesten des Landes und die Atmosphäre welche dieser Clip transportiert ist etwas ganz besonderes. “Moulay geht nicht größer”. Vor 4 Tagen gab es die volle Ladung für Boujmaa Gouilloul und Soufian Sahli an ihrem Homespot “Moulay Bouzerktoun”.

Ziemlich sicher dass es die höchsten Wellen waren, die “Bouj” und Soufian jemals in Marokko abgegriffen haben – ein Glück dass die Kamera dabei war. Schauts euch selbst an

You can’t score it bigger in Moulay. Just 4 days ago, Boujmaa Guilloul and Soufian Sahli scored some hardcore conditions in Marocco. Probably the biggest waves they’ve ever seen at their homespot.

Henrik Jamaer – der Bruder von Leon, welcher seit wenigen Wochen ins internationale Team von Fanatic aufgestiegen ist – verbrachte seinen Winter ebenfalls in Kapstadt und wie jeder, der diesen Winter in Südafrika zu Gast war, hat es auch Henrik perfekt erwischt.

Jeder der diesen Winter in Kapstadt zu Gast war hat den Jackpot geknackt. Der “South Easter” knallte praktisch jeden Tag für die kleinsten Segel im Gepäck. Sebastian Schöffel war mit einigen Kumpels auch wieder fast 2 Monate vor Ort und “musste” ganze 6 windlose Tage mit “Lifestyle” füllen – was in seinem Fall Skydiving, Safari oder SUP bedeutet – denn Welle läuft immer. Fabian Weber, zum ersten Mal ohne Freestyler in Kapstadt am Start hatte beispielsweise hatte in 6 Wochen vor Ort ganze 2 Tage ohne Salzwasserkontakt.

Everyone who travelled to Capetown this January / February really got South Africa at it’s best. Jackpot !  – also for Sebastian Schöffel and some friends.

Sebastian: “Year 2013 welcomes us with a warm and friendly south easter nearly all January and February. I think we just had five or six days without windsurfing.

Some of us made a safari, went skydiving, did a hiking trip to the Draken Mountains where we slept on 3000 m over sea level or we went out for a lot of SUP surfing!

It was so much fun with good friends and we will be back next year!

CAPETOWN ROCKZ!”  - it’s all in the title!!
