Hot Sails Maui is pleased to announce that 18yr Maui based ripper Morgan Noireaux has joined their Pro Wave Team with immediate effect.
He will be working closely with Kauli, Tom & Jeff to continue the development of the wave sails. Morgan who finished the AWT 2012 in 4th spot is preparing for the new season and we expect great things in the months ahead. Already firmly established as one of the best riders at Ho’okipa Morgan has proved himself in a range of conditions while on Tour and adds a new dimension to the Hot Sails Maui Ohana.
Pascal Toselli schaffte letztes Jahr den Durchbruch in die Top 16 des PWA Slalom Overall Rankings. Mit 27 Jahren gehört er zu den jüngeren Slalomfahrern auf der Tour – bereits in diesem Jahr will er in Richtung Top 10 angreifen.
Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen trainierte er über den Winter mit seinen Point-7 Black Team Kollegen in El Medano / Teneriffa. Bartek Jankowski (www.bj-productions.com) hat gerade einen coolen Clip dazu veröffentlicht – dort sehen wir auch dass der Franzose sich auch in der Welle nicht verstecken muss

“Aruba Xtreme” – ein neues Extremsport Event steht in den Startlöchern. Vom 2. – 7. April wird es auf Aruba ein echtes Feuerwerk an Extremsportarten zu sehen geben – und Windsurfen ist ein Teil davon.
Viele Weltklasse Freestyler haben ihr kommen bereits zugesichert. Taty Frans, Youp Schmit oder Amado Vrieswijk kommen aus Bonaire, Anthony Ruenes aus Frankreich und Steven Max, der aufstrebende Shootingstar der Freestyle Szene, hat ein Heimspiel.
Neben den Freestylern sind noch BMW, Kitesurfen und Skateboarden involviert. Langweilig sollte also keinem werden – außerdem gibts diverse Workshops und Shows an Land und auf dem Wasser. Mehr Infos findet ihr in der Pressemitteilung unten sowie unter www.aruba-xtreme.com

Foundation “2 the Max”, in collaboration with The Ministry of Public Health & Sports, presents Aruba’s first international Extreme-Sports event. This April 2nd till 7th is scheduled with an energetic program of athletes from all over the world in multiple competitions and age categories competing for titles, prizes and cash prizes. The 4 Extreme-Sports involved are: BMX Bike racing, Kite surfing, Skateboarding and Freestyle Windsurfing. Hundreds of participants from around the world are expected to compete and several world champions & pros have confirmed their appearance. Most of them will be flown in by Insel Air.
The Extreme-Sports competitions will be surrounded by activities and entertainment for young and old. There will be several shows on the water and the beach and clinics and workshops are set up for the whole family.
Many worldclass freestylers are already confirmed. Anthony Ruenes from France, Taty Frans and Youp Schmit from Bonaire or Steven Max will show up to get some moves done.
Amado Vrieswijk bereitet sich ausgiebig auf die kommende Freestyle Saison vor – dafür muss er nichtmal reisen, denn Bonaire ist für Freestyler im Winter einer der absoluten Topspots. Mit 17 Jahren ist Amado einer der jüngsten Fahrer auf der Tour und viele sagen ihm das Potential in Richtung Top 5 voraus. Dass dieser Gedanke garnicht so verkehrt sein könnte zeigt sein Clip. “Freek Session” mit seinem neuen Severne Segel. Amado Vrieswijk is training as much as possible for the upcoming season at home on Bonaire – a pretty good place to call “home”. With 17 years, Amado is still one of the youngest riders on the tour who has a huge potential for the future. In his latest clip he’s sailing on his new “Severne Freeks” and lands some awesome combination moves on both sides plus it looks like Amado also has all the latest powermoves in the bag.
Let’s see what there’s to come. Aruba Extreme and the PWA Podersdorf are the first stops on his agenda.

Im Herbst werden wir, wenn alles glatt läuft, eine neue DVD namens Below the Surface in Händen halten – darauf zu sehen: Victor Fernandez und einige Freunde in den besten Wellen dieses Planeten. Um diese zu finden filmte Andre gemeinsam mit Sebastian Doerr (er war auch bei Minds Wide Open mit an Bord) bereits fleißig auf Maui, auch wenn Wind und Wellen in den letzten Wochen leider nicht wie gewünscht zusammengespielt haben.

W.H.Y – ein Kurzfilm über einen unvorhersehbaren Wechsel. Die Story startet 2004 – Amanda Beenen aus Holland kennt nur eine Sportart und ist täglich auf ihrem Pferd unterwegs bis ein Unfall alles ändert und ihr Leben eine komplett neue Richtung einschlägt.
10 Jahre später stecken die Füße von Amanda in Fußschlaufen, sie gehört zu den besten Mädels in der Welle, bereist die Welt und fährt auf der PWA Worldtour mit. In W.H.Y blickt sie – gemeinsam mit Manuel Grafenauer der das Teil produziert hat – nochmal zurück. Schaut rein!
W.H.Y is a short movie about an unforeseeable change. The dutch windsurfer Amanda Beenen takes us back to the origin of her windsurf passion. In 2004 – where this story starts – horse riding was her favorite thing to do. Back than it was very unlikely that she would ever live the life she is living now. A traumatic accident changed everything and her life turned in a totally different direction.
Almost a decade later, it is clear to see, that without this incident she would most probably still horse ride and would have never put her feet into the straps of a windsurf board.

Meikel Thies und Valentin Böckler starteten ihren ersten Trip im Jahr 2013 auf die Kapverden – genauer gesagt auf die Insel Sal. Dort wollten sie eigentlich 5 Wochen bleiben, doch nach 10 Tagen vor Ort mit “nur” 5 Tagen auf dem Wasser musste ein neuer Plan her – und der hieß Sao Vicente. Adrian Beholz hatte den Spot bereits ausprobiert – und war zufälligerweise auch im Februar ein zweites Mal vor Ort. Der Grund liegt auf der Hand: Praktisch jeden Tag Wind und perfektes Flachwasser lassen das Freestyle Level rasant steigen und auch Meikel und Valentin bereuen ihre “Inselhopping” Aktion nicht.

Meikel Thies and Valentin Böckler started their first 2013 trip in February to Cabo Verde / Sal and stayed there for 10 days. After “only” 50% of wind they moved further to Sao Vicente – the new up and coming freestyle spot of Cabo Verde where Adrian Beholz was already waiting for them.
They scored it epic with super windy and flat conditions almost everyday. Valentin Böckler edited a cool shortclip which you’ll find below. Make sure to check it out
Martin ten Hoeve aka Lampie verbrachte den Februar gemeinsam mit seinen Point-7 “Black Team” Kollegen auf Teneriffa. Rund um El Medano gaben nicht nur die Slalom Jungs Gas, Lampie erwischte auch richtig Welle um für die kommende Saison zu trainieren. Noch besser: Bartek Jankowski hat (mal wieder) mit der Kamera draufgehalten und einen echt coolen Clip produziert.
“Lampie’s Blues” macht Laune – und wir freuen uns schon den größten PWA Waver in diesem Jahr wieder auf der Tour zu sehen.
